My loved ones and that i were delighted once the electric gates in the Lower Mill Estate glided open so we caught our first peek at the standard Cotswolds holiday cottages at Mill Village around the Cotswold Waterpark where i was remaining for that weekend.

The Cotswold Waterpark consists of roughly 150 different ponds covering a sizable section of 40 square miles between Swindon and Cirencester. There’s a great deal of leisure activities and abundant wildlife and encompassing 14 villages and towns connected by 100km of footpaths and cycle routes. I never realized this area is becoming this type of major tourist destination on its own, now I saw why!

The lakeside Cotswolds holiday cottages are superbly set so we were delighted with ours. Using the Somerford Lagoon somewhere and also the ‘infant’ River Thames lightly flowing past on the other hand, this location was certainly great for a waterside break! After unpacking and having a hearty meal cooked within the neat and well-outfitted kitchen, we relaxed for that evening around our cosy log burning stove within our lounge area.

The following day, getting enjoyed a great night’s sleep along with a full British “brunch” created using local ingredients purchased from the cute Mill Village Farm Shop, all of us headed not far away by walking look around the fantastic facilities the event provides.

We spent hrs experiencing the on-site facilities such as the outside tennis court, indoor ping pong table, children’s play area with trampoline as well as the sauna. We did not expect so that you can make use of the outside heated pool since mid-April weather wasn’t behaving itself, but there have been smiles over-all whenever we dipped our hands in and located water was way too warm to say no!

Through the evening, everything outdoors and workout had made us build up an appetite, therefore we required rapid drive round towards the Old Boathouse pub/restaurant close to the Four Support beams Hotel and completely enjoyed the meals and also the view over another of the numerous beautiful ponds only at that location.

On Sunday we hired almost completely new Trek bikes in the useful and friendly couple who own and run “Pass-Cycle” in Somerford Keynes. We spent the morning cycling around only a couple of from the 150 ponds within the Cotswold Waterpark, consuming the stunning scenery and wildlife. The mid-day contained a vacation to the nearby Cotswold Country Park which boasts two ponds, a swimming beach, family barbecue sites, crazy golf, Mind 4 Heights aerial adventure activities, various boating along with a café serving lovely sandwiches and paninis! A couple of us even attempted Water-Zorbing, in which you scramble around on the top of water inside a giant inflatable ball – the nearest you will get to walking water without having your ft wet!

In the finish of another fun-filled day, we required a 15 minute drive to consume our dinner in the Potting Shed Pub, within the quaint village of Crudwell. This can be a beautiful old building with stone walls and beamed ceilings also it features within the Good Pub Guide. What a terrific way to complete an attractive weekend!

As we examined in our lakeside bungalow all of us felt that the weekend was not enough, therefore the question on everyone’s lips was “When we could return for any week?”

Footnote: Our weekend bungalow away was booked at Mill Village within the Cotswold Waterpark.
